What’s Happening in Bluffton
Blufftonians and those who love Bluffton should have an online home that is full of good news and is a safe haven for civility in an ever negative and bully-filled world of social media.
That’s the simple idea behind What’s Happening in Bluffton.
We took over the Facebook group in March 2021 and have grown the group to well over 21,000 private-group members over that time. Many newcomers have told us they see the group as a “last line in the sand for civility.”
If you want to make mean, hurtful and politically-fueled comments, there are a million places online for that, sadly. Members, our “WHIBbies,” have been drawn to the group for the positivity and the constant moderation to make sure that members stay true to the purpose behind the group.
Need a new restaurant to try? A contractor for your home? Want to win prizes in community contests? Want to hear about great news from around the community?
It’s all there on What’s Happening in Bluffton. We’ve tried to create a clearing house for crowd-sourced recommendations, information from the Town, accident alerts and so much more.
Members can win contests for such things as Halloween or holiday decorations, learn about new small businesses, get breaking news around school or police alerts and get up-to-date on the latest things to do in and around Bluffton.
